Current Brand Obsession: Zadig & Voltaire
I’ve known that this label makes the best studded shoes you’ve ever seen for a minute now, but I recently saw some on the street, and then happened to try on a Zadig & Voltaire Deluxe shirt at Nordstrom Rack IN THE SAME DAY and I think that was the universe telling me to get better acquainted with them. (Note: when I say “try on” I mean to leave a wet spot on the dressing room floor because the shirt was so good it gave me a wettie)
< Not on my feet :(
< And they come in pink!
< The shirt that causes wet spots
So here’s the deal with Zadig & Voltaire. It’s a French brand that’s been around since 1997. That’s 20 years people. Longer than my marriage...just saying. It was founded by Thierry Gillier, the grandson of Andre Gillier, and founder of Lacoste. Famous for the polo shirts with the alligators on them, obviously fashion prowess runs in the family.
The brand is known for high quality and accessible ready-to-wear fashion with a punky, edgy, bohemian vibe.
(I think that's the hottest male model I've ever seen)
Here’s something else that’s badass, as if you needed more. This is what sealed the deal for me. The name is derived from the French Enlightenment philosopher Voltaire, and the name of one of the characters from a seminal work of his called Zadig ou la Destinee (Zadig, or the Book of Fate). In the fictional novella, Zadig is a Babylonian philosopher who has many adventures and eventually learns that all of human nature is predestined.
< He's gonna need more hookah to deal with the whole Fate thing...
To sum up the awesomeness:
- High-Quality Goods
- The Best Studded Derby’s Ever
- Paying Homage to French Enlightenment Philosophy
I am not affiliated with Zadig & Voltaire in any way, I just wanted to share the fan love. Are you having any #brandobsessions? If so let me know in the comments below!
