Be My Photoshop Model
Enter the Falkora Photoshop Model Contest for a chance to win a $75 Giftcard to Falkora Jewelry
The best part is you don't even have to leave your house!
Lately for a few reasons, including a global pandemic, I have been brushing up on my Photoshop skills so that I can put my jewelry digitally onto stock photos of models. And I've been pretty happy with the results. What do you think?
But instead of using stock photos of random models, I thought it would be even more fun to see if you were interested in being my Photoshop model. Yes, you!
All you have to do is send me a picture, and I'll pick the best one to add my jewelry to. The winner also gets a $75 gift certificate to my store.
If you're thinking "awesome! I love taking selfies, and feel totally comfortable in front of the camera" then you're ready to scroll down and get the contest details.
If you're thinking "noooo way! That's not for me, I'm not model material, and I feel awkward in front of the camera," then I especially want you to seriously consider leaving your comfort zone and entering.
I could go on and on for days about how much BS is shoved down our throats about ideal bodies and societal standards of beauty. But suffice it to say, I'm not looking for ideal. I'm looking for authentic. I just want you to be you, and take a moment to feel beautiful in your skin, whether that involves a full-on home glamour treatment or not.
One of the founding principles of my brand is that I want to increase confidence in the people who wear my jewelry. And I think what better way to feel confident than to take a few pictures of yourself feeling fire, whatever that looks like to you (please keep it PG-13 though).
So if your initial gut reaction was "nope!" then maybe reconsider and at try a home photo session. You don't even have to enter the contest after you do the shoot! A mini photo shoot is a great confidence boost regardless.
Another great option if you don't want to share a picture of your face, is to send in a picture of your hands holding or doing something cool. See Example 5 below.
Contest Deadline: September 8th, the winner will be announced by Sept 15th
Maximum of 2 pictures per person
Email pictures to email@example.com
*Please do not show any body parts that are not allowed on social media*
The winner will be required to sign a model release form so that I can use your picture for marketing purposes
Pictures from digital cameras are best, but not required. Phone pics work, as long as you send them as the largest file size possible.
If you send a photo from a digital camera, please send it as a RAW file.
Use your self timer, an app, or Bluetooth shutter button to control the camera shutter, or a helper at home if you have one.
If you already own some Falkora jewelry, it's your choice whether to include it in the photos or not. It will not effect your odds of winning.
Try to make sure the body part you're modeling for jewelry is fully facing the camera, not at an angle. For earrings, you can do a side angle, or front facing the camera. See examples 1, 2, and 6 below.
I put together some examples of the kinds of pictures that are best for photoshopping jewelry onto. Here are some Do's and Don'ts...Look for the green check, or the red X.
More than anything I hope you have fun and enjoy a moment of "feeling myself" energy. Good luck!
